Improve Prompt
Improve Prompt helps you turn a rough idea into a clearer project request before you generate your project. Nova rewrites your draft with a stronger structure, clearer requirements, and more specific outcomes while keeping your original intent.
Use Improve Prompt when you have a starting idea but want better clarity before spending a credit. It is especially useful when your request feels too short, too broad, or is missing important constraints.
Common uses include:
- Expanding a one-line idea into a complete project brief.
- Adding clear content, design, and functionality requirements.
- Defining the target audience, tone, and business goals.
- Reducing vague language that can lead to generic results.
For other helpful prompt-writing strategies, see Prompting Best Practices.
Using Improve Prompt
You can use Improve Prompt whenever you want Nova to refine your request, either when starting a project or when you chat with Nova about an existing project.
Enter your idea or request. Then, click Improve Prompt at the bottom of the prompt text box (when starting a project) or click Improve at the bottom of the chat panel (when chatting with Nova in an existing project). Nova replaces your prompt with a rewritten version that includes added detail and structure.
You can improve a prompt multiple times to add even more detail. Each time, Nova will generate a new improved version that improves on the contents of the prompt text box.
- Nova may make incorrect assumptions when adding details, or may change the meaning of your original request. Always review the improved prompt before you use it to generate a project.
- When you use this feature to improve a prompt, Nova will replace the current prompt, and you will not be able to revert back to it. To avoid losing the existing version, copy it and save it elsewhere first.
Reviewing the improved prompt
Improve Prompt helps with clarity, but it does not replace your judgment. Before you send the improved prompt to Nova, make sure that it still matches your original goal:
- Confirm that the prompt matches your business intent.
- Confirm that any required features are still present.
- Remove any details that are incorrect assumptions.
- Replace placeholders with specific details like names, addresses, or phone numbers.
